Navid Brewster is a graduate of Tulane University Law School where he received his J.D. with honors (cum laude). While in law school, Navid gained experience assisting start-ups and established business with their formation, regulatory and compliance issues, taxation, and general business and corporate issues. In his final year in law school, Navid also worked for the Honorable Jerry A. Brown in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana as a judicial extern where he assisted the court with its bankruptcy docket.
Since law school, Navid has been admitted to the bar in both Louisiana and California. As an attorney in Louisiana, Navid’s practice primarily involved the defense of a large corporation against a class of civil claims brought under RICO and other federal statutes. Navid moved back to California in 2015, and immediately began practicing with a law firm in Irvine, California where he litigated commercial disputes, breach of contract claims, business disputes between members/shareholders, trust and probate disputes, and claims involving the breach of fiduciary duties. Since returning to California, Navid has also resumed his practice of assisting start-ups and established businesses with their general business needs, and has dealt with businesses of all sizes needing assistance with a broad array of corporate and transactional issues.
While Navid continues to practice general civil litigation and business/transactional law,he has recognized the need for the specialized representation of cannabis businesses and entrepreneurs. From the issues that arise from federal illegality to state and local compliance and licensing requirements, Navid has the specialized knowledge of the laws,regulations, and legal issues necessary to successfully guide cannabis businesses and entrepreneurs toward the operation of state compliant businesses. Navid is passionate about providing his knowledge and focused expertise to assist the visionaries who will shape the future of the legal cannabis industry.
Prior to his legal career, Navid attended The University of Arizona where he received his bachelor’s degree in Finance. Navid is a native of Southern California and enjoys spending time with his wife at the beach, going to Angles games, cheering on his Arizona Wildcats,and enjoying the outdoor lifestyle afforded by the beautiful Southern California sun.
